Chief Research Officer

We are seeking an experienced Chief Research Officer that will have a critical role in leading our research, policy, and educational efforts, supporting our transparency and hazard avoidance agenda, developing and driving our growth strategy, and maximizing our mission impact.

The Chief Research Officer (CRO) reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is an integral part of HBN’s executive leadership team as we aim to double in size to meet expanding demand over the next three years. A current staff of four report to the CRO, including two senior researchers, a chemist, and a collective impact director (leading education initiatives).

Our mission is to advance human and environmental health by improving hazardous chemical transparency and inspiring product innovation. Since 2000, HBN has been the leading national organization to pioneer technology platforms, research, and policies that elevate human health and environmental justice to a top priority in the building and environmental health industries. To advance our mission we partner with companies like Google, research universities like Harvard, and non-profit environmental and housing sectors. It is an exciting time of growth and diversification and HBN needs a leader who will help us achieve our ambitious goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will be an accomplished professional with experience in organizational leadership and the following:

 

LOCATION: Preference for San Francisco Bay area, California. Will consider candidates in Greater Minneapolis/St. Paul area, Minnesota.

SALARY:  Commensurate with experience, range: $95,000 - $120,000. We provide a very generous benefits package in addition to salary.
